Letter from the President
Dear Capital Area Trial Lawyers Association Members,
It is an incredible honor to serve as President of CATLA this year. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to help lead an organization that plays such a vital role in protecting access to justice and advocating for the rights of injured Texans.
We are at a pivotal moment. The practice of personal injury law—and the rights of those we represent—are under sustained attack by well-funded interests. Now more than ever, CATLA must be a strong, united voice for trial lawyers and the clients we serve. That means investing in our Political Action Committee like never before and engaging strategically in the political process to support leaders who share our values and understand the importance of civil justice.
But CATLA’s strength doesn’t come from any one lawyer—it comes from all of us. From seasoned advocates to young lawyers just beginning their careers, our collective power is in our relationships, our knowledge-sharing, and our commitment to one another. That’s why I plan to focus this year on building deeper member engagement, especially among newer attorneys. We will be introducing new events, expanding sponsorship opportunities, and creating more spaces for our members to connect, learn, and lead together.
If you’re already a member, thank you. Your involvement matters. If you’re not yet a member, we invite you to join us. We need your voice and your energy.
Here’s to a year of strength, service, and solidarity.
Sincerely,
Josh Fogelman
President, Capital Area Trial Lawyers Association
